Pemex seeks to increase its presence in Mexico by opening almost 200 new service stations this year.

This was confirmed by Miguel Yasser Vicente, the company's Transportation Fuels Marketing Coordinator during the Synergía 2024 Forum. This will help the franchise's network of stations to reach almost 87% of the market.

According to a news report by Milenio, a total of 45 new sites have already been opened during January and February of this year. The company is currently awaiting authorization for the opening of another 150 outlets.

"Our growth in recent years has come from opening new stations or recovering some that have changed brands. We went to different parts of the country to inaugurate new gas stations, between January and February there are 45; we are waiting for the permit from the regulatory body, we have around 150 planned to start operations in the following months", explained Yasser Vicente.

During his participation in the Synergia Forum, the professional highlighted private retailers’ preference for both the Pemex brand and its product. This helped the recovery of almost 20% of the gas stations that previously operated under competing brands.
