UK: Morrisons to launch new c-stores
British supermarket chain Morrisons will roll out new convenience stores named Morrisons Daily in 10 Rontec petrol stations, reports BBC News.
Four of the Morrisons Daily stores will open before Christmas and six more in January.
With up to 3,000 square feet in size each, they will sell branded goods and Morrisons products, according to stockmarketwire.com.
Morissons is also bringing back Safeway, which will be the brand name of some of the food the retail company develops and produces for independent retailers and non-Morissons shops.
Safeway supermarkets were acquired by Morrisons in 2004 and its 479 stores were later on sold or rebranded.
Last year, Morrisons also sold its convenience store chain, M Local.
