English Español Avia Volt explores how to reduce charging downtime

The company has teamed up with over 50 students from Eindhoven universities to reduce charging time across its network.

Last update:

Avia Volt has partnered with InMotion, a team of more than 50 college students to study how to reduce charging times for electric vehicle (EV) drivers. The students from Eindhoven University of Technology and Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven were tasked with the mission to develop a battery pack that can be charged as fast as the refueling process for a car powered by conventional fuel.

Back in September of last year, the team started developing the battery pack for their own all-electric race car. Recently, InMotion presented their new charging time of only 3 minutes and 56 seconds, the fastest charging process for an EV in the world.

As part of this partnership, Avia Volt provides its mobile charger to charge the battery pack in the electric race car.

"With this charger we can charge anywhere, whether on the circuit or in our own garage, this charger is incredibly important for us," says Hieke van Heesch, Partnership Manager of InMotion.

For future developments, when the students need heavier charging equipment, Avia Volt will support it with its different solutions in order to make charging as effortless as possible.
