English Español Aral expands pilot project for renewable fuel after positive response

Continuously rising sales figures for Futura Super 95 and Futura Diesel have led the retailer to expand the products up to eight sites nationwide.

Last update:

Aral is expanding the pilot project for its lower-CO2 fuels Futura Super 95 and Futura Diesel in Germany.

Customers can now buy them at a further filling station in Berlin and from mid-February at an additional five filling stations in Munich, Ingolstadt, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and Lingen. Both fuels reduce CO2 emissions by at least 25% compared to purely fossil fuels.

The positive sales development at the current two pilot locations in Berlin and Düsseldorf show that Aral customers are responding very well to the new offer.

“We would now like to deepen the insights we have gained on a larger scale. In this way, we want to take the next important step on our way to contributing to the transport transition not only by expanding the charging infrastructure, but also with lower-CO2 fuels,” said Achim Bothe, Chairman of Aral AG’s Management Board.

Aral launched its lower CO2 fuels on a trial basis at two stations on the German market in November 2022. The pilot project served as an initial test to gain insights into customer behavior with regard to lower-CO2 fuels.
