Petrobras introduces first sun-powered petrol station in Paraguay
Petrobras, on its 10th anniversary in Paraguay, has launched the first solar-powered petrol station in the country, according to Revista CADAM.
The innovative project, which costs about $100,000, consists of mounting 40 solar panels on the rooftop and changing the lighting system to LED of the Petrobras station at Shopping del Sol de Asunción.
The solar panels installed are capable of generating 50 kWh a day, which will be utilized to power the forecourt’s lighting system.
It will also help the station save 55 kWh a day, equivalent to 20,075 kWh a year.
With this project, Petrobras Paraguay aims to promote the use of clean and renewable energy.
The Brazilian oil company operates 185 service stations in the South American country.
