The Gunnedah’s site will feature a Shell outlet and convenience store, 24-hour cafe, as well as 24-hour Burger Edge store with drive-through, and will employ about 30 employees, reports Namol Valley Independent.

The 8,500 m² site, located on the Kamilaroi Highway, will be open to trucks up to 36.5 metres in length.

A spokeperson of Terra Firma, the technology consulting company in charge of the building phase, declared that the project was three months into a nine-month schedule. Paul Hoare said that this would the first location in Gunnedah area with the capacity to serve large road trains.

"Shell asked us to find a site in Gunnedah to build a state-of-the-art facility as it is clearly lacking in the area and with the bypass plans for the township, this site opposite the sale yards was considered a prime location and there is no other site in Gunnedah to cater for large B-doubles up to 36.5 m length," Hoare told the NMV.
