TOTAL Deutschland has acquired the business activities in the field of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles from the Munich-based company Digital Energy Solutions, Viessmann Group. TOTAL will be integrating over 1,400 charging stations with over 2,000 charging points at B2B locations.

Digital Energy Solutions offers complete charging infrastructure packages for fleets and businesses. The company also provides fleet managers and company car drivers with charging solutions for homes.

TOTAL's declared goal is to operate up to 40,000 charging points by 2025, depending on market developments in Germany. The company hopes that the size and know-how of Digital Energy Solutions will facilitate its breakthrough in the e-mobility charging market.

"With the takeover, we are strengthening electromobility outside the filling station infrastructure (…). We are aiming for strong growth in this segment in the coming years, initially with a focus on the B2B sector," says Christian Cabrol, Managing Director of TOTAL Deutschland.

TOTAL Deutschland GmbH, a branch of the multi-energy company Total, has the third-largest network of filling stations in the Germany with around 1,200 stations.
