NXT 50five, the joint venture between NXT Mobility and 50five, is expanding its fast-charging network with a new location in Amsterdam's Westelijk Havengebied.

The new site is dedicated to e-trucks and vans that currently cannot access most public fast-charging locations due to limited space, too low canopy height or insufficient subsoil bearing capacity. Equipped with two ChargeBox systems, the site allows two vehicles to charge 320 kW simultaneously.

"The development of this network of fast chargers is a win-win situation; it not only stimulates the adoption of electric trucks but also addresses the problem of grid congestion," said Erik Metselaar, Director of NXT Mobility.

The fast charger works like a power bank: it charges the battery at low power and releases the stored electricity while charging a vehicle at high power. Most charging cards are accepted at the NXT 50five location in Amsterdam, including the NXT 50five charging card.
