SPAR to open more stores in Oman

SPAR is set to roll out more stores in Oman following an agreement with Nakheel United Enterprises to convert 15 Marhaba Quick-shops at Al Maha fuel stations in Muscat into SPAR Express stores.

Nakheel United Enterprises Chairman Abdullah Amur Mohammed Al Sawaie welcomes the partnership as well as learning opportunities the company will gain from international retailer like SPAR.

SPAR Oman introduces a voluntary trading model that advances expertise in store formats and design, supply processes, training, retail software, and cost efficiency for independent retailers, according to a company release.

In addition, M. Sridhar, CEO, SPAR Oman, said, “We are extremely proud to be on the cusp of launching a new concept in entrepreneurship – one that will benefit the local SMEs through a sub-licencing model; a win-win strategy where we expect to build long-term partnerships with entrepreneurs, and help them grow their business.”

SPAR has recently opened its 15th SPAR Supermarket, a 395m²-store converted from the Khimji chain. It offers 340 products from India, the Netherlands, South Africa, Belgium, France, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America and has allotted 85m² -space to fresh produce, fish, and meat.
