English Español Copec expands EV charging capabilities

Its Voltex subsidiary has established five new fast chargers across southern cities of Chile as part of its "+Carga Rápida" program.

Copec Voltex has completed the implementation of five new fast charging points for electric vehicles (EV) across southern cities of Chile.

In order to continue promoting e-mobility throughout the country, the company has established the equipment in the cities of Talca, Puerto Montt, Osorno, Coyhaique and Punta Arenas. In addition, it has added another charger in Chiloé which will be ready in the coming days.

These latest additions are part of the "+Carga Rápida" program, a joint project to deploy fast charging infrastructure. The initiative involves the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Energy and the Energy Sustainability Agency (AgenciaSE).

In that line, this initiative represents an important step forward in strengthening the fast charging infrastructure available throughout the national territory.

Other sustainability initiatives by Copec include its recent announcement to reduce water consumption by 30% by 2025. Today, the company has 58 sustainable gardens, achieving annual savings of 34,800 m3 of water alongside other environmental innovation initiatives developed to diversify and reduce the consumption of groundwater.
